I'll agree to that, ma dulcinée. [Danny smiles, and gives Marie a little squeeze as they walk on.] Getting caught in the act isn't something that excites me.
[Her current apartment is in one of those buildings with retail shops on the ground floor -- in fact, Danny's place is directly above a charming little coffee shop. ("I get breakfast there so many times a week, they know my order by heart" is the comment she gives). Danny sneaks another kiss while unlocking the door, then leads the way inside.]
[A small noise of excitement leaves Marie’s lips at Danny’s usage of French. She can’t help but make notes of where Danny lives and the little coffee shop she lives above, just in case.
She’ll happily return the kiss as she’s lead into the apartment.]
[The couch is squashy and soft, with cushions made of teal fabric. There's a flatscreen TV on the wall, but below it is a console table with storage compartments, and a record player and collection of vinyl records have pride of place there. The living room has an open floor plan and leads directly into the kitchen, which has white cabinets and counters. There are only a few personal touches there, but it's cute things like fruit-shaped magnets.]
[There's a hallway that branches off to a bathroom on one side, and Danny's bedroom on the other. Neither room can be seen just yet.]
If you like... you can take a look at the records. Put one on...
I mean, we don't have to jump right to the action. Unless you'd rather.
[There are albums from Deep Purple and Pink Floyd, then Quiet Riot, Vulcain, and Blut Aus Nord along with other heavy metal bands. Plenty of the records' sleeves are printed in French, which should make it clear that the endearment was not a one-off thing. Danny's copy of 'Watermark' by Enya has clearly been played a lot, and there at least two classical music records hiding amongst the rest.]
Take your time, Marie. I'm feeling no need to rush... you're the sort I'd like to savor.
[Danny will take the opportunity to go into the kitchen and get some cold drinks -- lemonade, though there are other options if that's not to Marie's taste.]
Good, good - I like the slow path myself to enjoy it all.
[And Marie would keep looking over the records. She can't help but be impressed with the sleeves in French - it meant she knew more than just fancy words. Seeing the Enya record and its state, she decided to play it - she figured that Danny must like the music.]
[Danny giggles when she hears the title track of 'Watermark' start playing. As she hands a glass over to Marie, the record arm glows pink, then lifts up and drops into the correct groove to start playing 'Orinoco Flow'. It's one of Enya's most popular songs, so she figures Marie will recognize and enjoy it as well.]
I see you've figured out one of my favorites. [She gives Marie a kiss on the cheek, then walks over to the couch.]
